About Us

August’s Crooked Mini follows the story of a political consultant accused of election fraud and the subsequent trial in North Carolina’s 9th District. In the 2018 election, consultant McCrae Dowless stole and forged absentee ballots to help elect Mark Harris, the Republican candidate running to be the next Member of Congress from District 9. North Carolina native Shaniqua McClendon, Crooked’s Political Director, will revisit the story with guests who witnessed what happened and will bring new information to light in order to explore what’s at stake in the September 10th election that could finally elect a Democrat in a long-held Republican seat.
