About Us

I’m on the road early to get to work. I drive on Georgia State Route 400. My goal is to create a collection of interesting podcasts ranging topics and interests that I happen to be following. What I will deliver: 400 episodes less than 30 minutes in length on a weekly basis. So buckle up and enjoy listening to the random thoughts of a random person.

Ep. 9: More People?

Hello hello! Sorry not sorry for missing a week of podcasting.New baby means deadlines get pushed sometimes. And... my daughter is adorable! Notes: 375 million people in America... way off on that number. But whatever, I was just spit balling y'all. Google says we are closer to 327 million. Okay so where do we currently stand on countries recognized by the UN and their replacement rate: There are 196 countries recognized 100 countries EXACTLY are at replacement rate or higher 92 countries (including the US) are below replacement rate For my "Dooms Day" experiment we need: The 92 below replacement rate to maintain to lack of commitment to building a personal army 81 Additional countries would have to fall below replacement rate for 10 years to see if we are totally screwed or not =/ Check out this short documentary from Hans Rosling on Youtube titled DON'T PANIC — Hans Rosling showing the facts about population: Here Article about possible public school closures due to low birth rat...

Ep. 7: Everybody Knows...

Please follow the show on twitter: @400thoughts If you have any questions or recommendations you can email the show at: 400thoughts.thedriver@gmail.com Description: When somebody says, "Well, everyone knows..." call them on it. This episode is about asking questions of people that take same facts for granted without knowing how to explain the problem or solution. Enjoy! Clarification: Existential Threat- People often say climate change is an existential threat. I would clarify that claim to specify that only humans are being emphasized in those sorts of statements. There are plenty of animals and bacteria that will adapt and be fine. As far as the claim that we will all die out, I tend to lean on the side of optimism that we will overcome the rising temperature problem. I meant to just focus on the private sector's ability to make quality solutions and products that can help with climate change instead of focusing on fede...

Ep. 6: Beer, Boxing and Atlanta Traffic!

Please follow the show on twitter: @400thoughts If you have any questions or recommendations you can email the show at: 400thoughts.thedriver@gmail.com Notes: Soooo this was a weird one. Had some technical issues pertaining to my phone picking up weird feedback. On top of that I was lucky enough to get stuck in some pretty epic, though fairly common, Atlanta traffic! So today you get more or less two topics in one. Lucky you! If I sound a bit loopy, that's because my brain was trying to stay both awake and agile while Atlanta drivers moved forward slowly and diagonally at dangerous speeds. Anyways... here are the links to the items I mentioned in this episode. NowThis video of Mayor Pete and Andrew Yang and their respective favorite swear words: Here Kamala Harris got high, maybe video: Here Correction: It was Snoop Doggy Dog and Tupac, not Dr. Dre. This if the Neuralink video I watched: Here There is a pretty good book talking about future technologies written by Peter H. Diamandis: Here The "Ds" that I couldn't remember from Peter H Diamandis are: Digitized, Deceptive, Disruptive, Demonetized, Dematerialized and Democratized Here is a link to a fuller explanation of each D: Here The Freakonomics episode about Wizards and Prophets: Here The interview I referenced between Dave Rubin and Marianne Williamson: Here Steven Pinker's book regrading the overall trends of the world becoming generally better in every way: Here The times they are a changing, might as well enjoy the new gear and concepts.
