Tim Johnson is a former professional cyclist, most known for his multiple cyclocross national titles and world championship medals. His career also included a stint on a World Tour road team, where he had to face tough decisions at the height of the doping era that nearly made him quit the sport. Payson and Tim were teammates as part of a collection of Lululemon athletes for BC Bike Race, where Payson had the chance to better get to know an icon of the sport he’s looked up to for years. Between stages six and seven, the two sat down to discuss stories from both the high points and low points of his career, his position as development director at USA Cycling, how he helped Tejay Van Garderen and Mike Woods in their last few workouts before this year’s Tour de France, why he’s so silly, and his never-ending love of the sport. This episode has some stronger-than-usual language.

Chris Harris Jr., Denver Broncos cornerback

Chris Harris Jr. is the Denver Broncos star cornerback. Along with helping them to victory in Super Bowl 50, Harris is a 4x Pro Bowler. He was signed by the Broncos in 2011 as an undrafted free agent in 2011 with a mere $2,000 signing bonus, and slotted in 12th on the depth chart for his position (only the top five players are kept after preseason training). Harris managed to earn his way in to that top five, and over the following years has developed in to one of the best players in the league. Payson sat down with Chris in his Denver, CO home last winter to discuss trash talking, who the toughest receiver to cover in the league is, the wear and tear of the sport, why a solid family life helps him perform in front of hundreds of thousands in a stadium, his very special diet (which wife Leah had on the stove as we recorded), and how being surrounded by strong women growing up has spurred him to be a voice against domestic violence.
