29. Ron Rivera, the New Coaching Staff and The Front Office Shakeup

The Washington Redskins Season ended on December 29th, 2019… in a matter of days from the final loss of the year the team has a completely new power structure and is headed in a totally different trajectory… The most important move of all was the firing of team President Bruce Allen, without this move nothing else would have mattered, it would all have had the same outcome as almost all problems spurred from Allen's shortcomings. The second most important move that the Redskins will have made this offseason was the hiring of Ron Rivera as our new Head Coach, this move was not made hastily, it was not a situation where the owner just through money at a big name coach to get him in the door, this move took months of research and careful planning on the owners end… It all started with Dan Snyder identifying what attributes winning teams share, determining why they were successful and how they were structured… he then identified who would be the best possible candidate to come into ...

28. Dallas Cowboys, Bruce Allen Firing & the Bright Future Ahead

It is the bittersweet end to the Redskins season… we went out, just like we came in… with a tough loss to a division rival. This final game against the Cowboys was an absolute beatdown, Dallas was clinging to the hope of still making the playoffs (barring an Eagles loss), and they came out swinging, making this team look even worse than they were, dismantling the Redskins defense and closing their season with a 47-16 Win. In a game that was almost completely overshadowed by what will come next for this franchise, including some accurate breaking news from legit reporters, the typical here-say and rumors from people with “Sources”, and what was being reported on the National level; it was hard to concentrate on just the game at hand… The Redskins went into it down many of their notable starters and as far as I could tell, no desire to win the game at all… Both teams started flat and for the first two quarters the Redskins were actually in the game, but after halftime the defens...

27. New York Giants, Dwayne Haskins Injury & the Future of this Team

It was a Giant Win for the Redskins in the race to potentially draft Chase Young… but as for the regular season, it was just another L. With this weeks loss to the New York Giants, the Redskins season record is now an abysmal 3-12… The real headline of the game was another injury to Dwayne Haskins, after playing exceptionally well in the first half, Haskins was tackled from behind (extremely low) and left the game, he walked off the field and headed to the tunnel before getting loaded onto a cart and taken for x-rays… although he did come back to the side line he would not finish the game, leaving Case Keenum to lead the stable of Redskins rookie receivers…It was one of the best played games from this offense all season, unfortunately the defense again was overwhelmed and they underperformed. Despite the D’s poor play the game was competitive, close throughout and came down to overtime. Ultimately Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley proved to be too much of a challenge and the Gian...

26. Philadelphia Eagles, Dwayne Haskins Breakout Game & Front Office

Can losing feel good? Well, I guess not… but at this point in the season, when we're not playing for anything other than player improvement and a draft position, this loss didn't sting as bad as I thought that it would… The Washington Redskins lost to the Philadelphia Eagles (37-27), which brings their season record to (3-11)… It is always tough to lose to a division rival, especially if it means that they stay in the playoff hunt, but this one left me coming away with a lot of positives in regards to the young players that finished the game… Not to mention that this was one of the best played games I have seen from this offense all year long, and by far (and wide) the best performance we have seen from Dwayne Haskins to date, he has been continually improving week to week and this game was the culmination of his progression since he became the starter for this team... The problem is that the defense did not show up and allowed the Eagles to run (and pass) all over the field… i...

25.Green Bay Packers, Dwayne Haskins Injury Dilemma and the Shaky Front Office

Back to reality… the Win streak is over… and even though our season is not over yet, the Redskins were officially eliminated from playoff contention after a tough loss to the Packers on the road losing 15-20, and bringing their season record to 3-10. And as unlikely as our chances of making the playoffs were, at least it was something to be hopeful for, who doesn't want to rep their division (in the playoffs) after starting the year 1-9… Coming off back-to-back Wins the Redskins went Green Bay and faced (arguably) one of the best QB's in the league, the team touted that their Defense would shut down the Pack's run game and make Aaron Rodgers beat them, well they didn't exactly shut down the run game with Jones putting up 134 yards, but Rodgers beat us anyway. The game started like most games have this season, with the opposition walking the ball downfield on their opening drive and scoring, but again after going down 0-14, the defense composed themselves and stepped up in a big w...

24. Carolina Panthers & the Redskins Youth Movement

Do two games constitute a Win Streak? Well why not… The Redskins are on their hottest win streak of the season after beating the Carolina Panthers on the road 29-21. Well it's nothing to get too excited about, but damn it feels good to Win again, bringing our season record to 3-9… Although the game started with Carolina gashing the D on their first two possessions and going up 14-0, the young defensive group remained composed, bounced back and shut them down for the rest day finishing with seven sacks, one fumble and one interception. And similar to our Defense, after some early struggles, the offense came alive in a big way led by our ground and pound, one two punch of Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice, the latter of which had a career day… the offensive line was getting a great push and to be honest both lines really dominated both sides of the ball… It was a great team win and was really fun to watch the team play with such confidence. It’s been such a long season to this po...

23. Detroit Lions, Dwayne Haskins and the Journey Ahead

Winning cures all… right? Well the Redskins have finally one another game, this time beating the Detroit Lions in a close game that finished 19-16. It wasn't exactly a pretty Win, or a convincing Win, but at the end of the day a Win is a Win! This week's W brings the Washington Redskin's 2019 season record to 2-9, still terrible, but doesn't it just feel good to Win again (especially at home)! This game just felt different from the start, maybe I am just so beaten down by our season so far that I am numb to the thought of another loss, or maybe it was just the team playing differently then I have seen in the last few weeks, but this game never felt out of reach, despite the offensive struggles, the team had a different feel, and different swagger then we're used to seeing and it was actually enjoyable to watch, it was something I haven't felt in a while watching this team play… The team was elevated by some good defensive play and a stellar Special Teams effort, including a ridicu...

22. New York Jets & New Low for the Redskins

A new low, even for this team… this Redskins team looked terrible, especially against an awful Jets team who beat them up for four quarters... The Washington Redskins suffer yet another ‘hard to watch’ brutal loss, this time to the New York Jets, bringing their season record to an abysmal 1-9… nothing seemed to go right for this team and they literally couldn’t get anything to work early on. Granted they were able to move the ball in the fourth quarter and finally break the 16 quarter touchdown deficit, it was all too little and too late… Although it is something to be positive about and something to build off of and hopefully a boost in Haskins confidence going into the back end of the season as our starter… In Episode Twenty-Two, I cover the good, the bad and the mostly ugly of the Redskins tenth regular season game of the 2019 season against the New York Jets… I review the game overall, Dwayne Haskins early struggles, how there is very little to be hopeful for on either s...

21. Week Nine - Buffalo Bills, Dwayne Haskins, Coaching Woes & Trent Williams (2019)

The dawn of a new era, the Dwayne Haskins era… unfortunately it started with the same results… despite Dwayne Haskins getting his first NFL Career Start, the Washington Redskins suffer yet another tough loss against the Buffalo Bills, bringing their season record to 1-8… the running game was working early on, and the defense, once again, kept it close; but the continued 3rd down struggles on both sides of the ball ultimately doomed this team... In Episode Twenty-One, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins ninth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Buffalo Bills… I review the game overall, Adrian Peterson’s great start, the defense's continued strong play, despite the amount of injuries, the coaching staff and our abysmal record, and I take some time to look at what our coaches are bringing to the table and if any of them are viable candidates to be on this team next year… I take a deep dive into my thoughts on Dwayne Haskins and just how well he d...

20. Week Eight - Minnesota Vikings & Dwayne Haskins [Part II] (2019)

Here we go again… the Washington Redskins have, yet another, poor showing in a Primetime Game losing their seventh game of the year… after a tough loss last week to the 49ers, the Redskins lose another close game to the Minnesota Vikings bringing their season record to 1-7… The defense played well and did their part early on keeping the game within reach. On top of that, early in the game Case Keenum and Adrian Peterson were both moving the ball quite well, unfortunately, Keenum got banged up before halftime and went out of the game and into Concussion Protocol, forcing the Rookie Dwayne Haskins to start under center in the second half. The rookie QB's lack of experience or preparedness for the situation ultimately proved to be too much for the offense to overcome and the Vikings pulled ahead and closed out the game 19-9… Despite struggling in this game, Haskins does not deserve all the blame, he is a rookie in this league and is on a team that has valued it's other quarterbacks...
