About Us

This is podcast is a part of my healing journey, it is something to help me recover, heal and also uplift myself and others. This podcast was created to help me to channel my energy, to help connect with others. To help me recognize the people that are not being prioritized. We live in a world that prioritize work, ableism and perfection. Like Will Smith said, I am here to tell you to make mistakes, make them early, make them often and hopefully inspire you to break cycles. I also want to talk about being an entrepreneur and how a 20 year old started a business. let’s have some unfiltered fun!

Angry black woman: a poem

Disclaimer, by any means am I using what is going on as a way to get attention. As a black woman this is my reality and the only way I seem to be able to to remain sane or express myself is through spoken words, through art, meditation, creativity. I use to be alone but now I’m free to share my work without experiencing hateful slurs and slanders from my own people. Even with the current state of things, for the first time in my lifetime, it seems as if we’re finally on one page. But even though we’re fighting racism, we should be fighting this system, the system that also haves intersections and is responsible for our sufferings. Whether you’re black and woman, black and queer, poc and disabled, this war cannot be won unless we include the people who are most demeaned, most vulnerable, and most disrespected. Remember, if your biases is affecting my way of life, it’s not an opinion, it’s hate!

Angry black woman: a poem

It’s 2020 and we still can’t breathe | BLM

I wrote this spoken word July 10, 2019 after another black person was fatally shot and killed. And I also want to remind y’all to take care of your mental health. Black people are traumatized every day but yet there is a big stigma regarding mental illness in the black community. Not only societal has fed us false narratives that “we don’t feel pain” but we also continue to suppress ourselves and members of our community. Please take time for yourself! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Self preservation: This is not a poem!?!

I will be reading this spoken word to y’all about how I feel like I am speechless even if I can speak. Disclaimer: I am grateful to be able bodied and is not comparing my struggles whatsoever to anyone else. This poem was written to connect to people like me who feel as if they aren’t able to express themselves clearly, people who may be struggling with speech or creative weirdos who gravitate towards art because that’s the only way they feel empowered. This podcast is never intended to harm but to empower and to use the healing power of laughter to help reach out to anyone struggling. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Being Human: the perfection in the imperfection

I was reminiscing on feelings, emotions, seasons and transformation. I was thinking about how each human is subject to their own life experiences, some confusing, some painful, some missing. We are all responsible for how we clean up our mess. Do we store them in a box and push them away, or pretend, do we acknowledge them and push for a breakthrough, to see the joy in the morning. Anyways enjoy my thoughts and a poem and the soothing sound of my voice. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Being Human: Empowerment

I wrote this poem to empower myself last year. We live in a world where others may have so much to say about us, who we were, who we are but yet there isn’t much empowering, much encouragement. So we must look to our inner selves for empowerment. But how can we empower ourselves when we do not know where to start and how to do so. For me it starts by having some alone time in my room, eating a good meal, learning from failed situations, striving and continuing when all odds are against you. This episode is not scripted. Enjoy! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Being Human: Empowerment

Being human: kindled

In this episode of being human, I will be sharing with you a poem I wrote a few weeks ago. It is a little dark but it’s to expose our complexity as humans. Life is not simple, we are not simple and we should embrace that more instead of striving to be faceless perfect clones. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Being Human: Attached

Intro- Young, Crazy and Lazy?

Young, crazy, lazy- this name is a contradiction, although it is true that I am young, and it does not imply that I am lazy or crazy. So I thought about a podcast for a very long time, after realizing that I’m also the toxic friend, I decided that I would use my personal experiences to help or entertain others. This will be use as an outlet for me and for others who can relate. I also have a business, I started it last year . I’ll tell you how a lazy, crazy, young 21 year old started a business, became the toxic friend, struggled with mental health, deal with school, manic episodes and complicated situationship drama. But we are also gonna talk about growth, elevation, stigmas, spirituality, sexual health and all things unfiltered. I’m your host Lo, keeping it lowkey on YCL. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
