LAFC Season Pass Podcast | It Never Rains LA
LAFC completed an undefeated preseason with Wednesday's victory over Toronto F.C., but all the work that Bob Bradley & C.o have put into the preseason was in preparation for the club's Champions League debut. The warm up period is over; Leon awaits on the other side of President's Day weekend.Uruguayan forward Brian Rodriguez continued his preseason dominance, scoring his third goal in three matches for LAFC against Toronto. Carlos Vela and newly minted academy legend Christian Torres scored the other goals in LAFC's 3-1 victory on Wednesday. It's always good to see the MVP contributing to the offense, but watching the 15-year-old Torres, the first academy player to score in a senior team match, find the back of the net was a heartwarming moment for the entire organization. Now it gets real. LAFC will play its inaugural CONCACAF Champions League match against Leon on Tuesday, and though the team looked impressive this preseason, LAFC still has many roster questions as it heads to Mexico to try to get a result on the road in arguably the biggest game in the club's short history to date.Ryan Wallerson of the Los Angeles Daily News and Writer at Large (he said small, but we all know Dweezy is anything but) Alex Dwyer are joined by Tigers Supporter Group member and youth soccer coach Pierce Maher to talk about the Toronto F.C. match, how LAFC should balance returning players with those who participated in the full preseason, and begin to look toward Leon.
