TOTLB 217 Devs

EThis is probably one of the more fascinating shows that we have watched in a while! Not only are the visuals fantastic, especially within the Devs research area, but the story line itself, is a thinker. Do you think that we have free will, and are able to change things as we go through life, or is everything already setup for us!? That is the biggest theme in the FX on Hulu show, Devs! Nick Offerman plays the CEO of a company, with a secret research department, called Devs. Well, as always, the CEO of the company isn't always above board with the people that he employs. He has a motive of his own, to prove make Devs functional, exactly as he see's fit, until the very end. And, in the very end, his character isn't as horrible as he comes off. He still sucks, he's just not AS bad!! TOTLB 216 A History of Violence

EHow long does it take for a convicted felon to be discovered, once he goes on the lamb? That's a part of what we find out during out next episode!! We're talking about the 2005, Viggo Mortensen movie, A History of Violence! Technically Tom Stall is not in the witness protection program, he's just on the run, and has started a new life. On the road for something like twenty years, Tom, we think, believes that he is no longer Joey Cusack, an ex member of the mob. That is, until Carl Fogarty (Ed Harris) visits Tom, having seen him on the news, saving a few of the townsfolk residents. Carl, is a member of the mob that Tom was running away from, and now Carl wants Tom to come back in order to face mob justice. Will the family stay together amidst all of the madness? Does Tom remember Joey, and do they end up going back to a life of crime? TOTLB 215 Channel Zero

EApparently our show has leaned a lot more towards the horror genre in the last few weeks! We are continuing that trend with the latest installment! The beautiful thing about this next topic, Channel Zero, is that it is an anthology type series. So, none of the seasons have anything to do with each other. They may share an actor or two, but the characters are completely different, and have nothing to do with who they played in a subsequent season! If you're not convinced yet, the first season has to do with a tooth monster, and a young boy who makes up a TV show, in order to try and teach them a lesson about being mean to him. The second season is about an "art installation" of a house, that is more like a Halloween nightmare! The series gets better as you go, and it's definitely something that you should all be watching, originally airing on SyFy! TOTLB 213 Two Weeks of Pop Culture

EWe had planned on talking about a certain TV show, but half of the nights hosts, had to skip this session, and so Gabe and Juan decide to push that topic further in the future. For this episode, we are just talking about the last two weeks of pop culture that we have ingested! The final season of Agents of SHIELD is in full swing. The team finds itself in the past, on the trail of the Chronicoms. At this point, the team jumped into the past, and then jumped forward to the 50's. They have been interacting with agents from the past, and even had to help Hydra, in order to make sure that SHIELD existed. Gabe also talks about the hilarious golfing show, Holey Moley. Produced by Steph Curry, hosted by Joe Tessitore & Rob Riggle, Holey Moley is too much fun, for a golf show! BUT, who doesn't like mini golf, and crazy obstacles? TOTLB 212 Harlem Nights

EAre you ready to step back in time with us once again? A time where there were mob bosses and crooked cops......well maybe not much has changed. We're going back to 1989, to talk about a film that was set in the late 1930's, in Harlem. Of course we're talking about the Eddie Murphy, and Richard Pryor movie, Harlem Nights. Things are going bad at Club Sugar Ray. So, Quick & Sugar, decide that it's time to finally close the doors to the club, and move on to a different city. They hatch a scheme, in order to fake fixing a fight, while they're able to steal the cities mob boss, of all of his money. During the ruse, chaos erupts. People are dying, and Quick is accused of killing someone, but is of course innocent. The bosses money is stolen, and his heroine is replaced with sugar. It's a crazy story, revolving around a time of fancy clothes, and fancy cars, when things seemed to be much simpler, and where you could steal a whole ton of money, and just move onto a different ciy.; SUBSCRIBE: Apple Podcasts| Android | Spotify | Pandora | RSS Tell us what you think!Leave us a voicemail at 970-573-6148Send us feedback and/or MP3's to outsidethelongbox@gmail.comFollow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube!Support the podcast on Patreon!Credit - Doyle Daniels, Juan Muro, Gabe Llanas, Tim Huskey
