About Us

Most of us show immense adoration for a good success story. Each month Maquita Donyel, published author and relentless dreamchaser, discusses every day “life things” while in the midst of earth-shattering transitions and faith-driven dream chasing. She’s a pro-black, Jesus loving, single momming, stubborn-bubbly-no-nonsense queen in her 30s that currently implements efficiency strategies in offices and tells stories through poems for a living. Come to feel inspired, feel seen, and/or be entertained. If you have it all figured out, this is a podcast you can likely do without. Or maybe not.

Some peace for your anxious week. Afraid and on the Right Path, Defeating Fear and Limitations – Life Things with Maquita Donyel

"...you can know [your visions] are very right, and [that] you're right where you're supposed to be. Every sign can [point towards that], from the the books you're reading, the conversations you're having, [etc.], and it can also, even in that moment, be scary as crap...."- Life Things with Maquita Donyel Podcast, Episode 3 "Before you think that sounds too big, let me assure you, God-sized dreams aren't really about size at all. They're about the desires God places within you that perfectly fit your heart.God-sized dreams are an essential part of who you're created to be and what you're called to do. They lead to more meaning, joy, and connection with the One who gave them to you." - Holley Gerth, You're Made for a God-Sized Dream: Opening the Door to All God Has for You In my experience, the opportunity to your embrace dreams and visions do not present themselves as easy choices, but usually in moments of great opposition and opposing choices.Right OR leftStay OR goThe comfort of the known (even if it's unhealthy), staying, and not growingOR the discomfort of the unknown (even if it presents a better opportunity), not staying and experiencing growth. It comes as a challenge, an intentional decision to make, not one you just stumble across. An intentional effort to go, try, do, and grow IN SPITE of the opposition often disguised as comfort, a safe bet and is often what's familiar.

How to Actually Implement Self -care: In alone time, in Friendships, in Romance, in the hustle (with Carter Sade) Part 1

I don't really care for instructing others on "How To" as it's often an over simplified 1-10 robotic list of quick-fix directives not at all tailored to one's individual experience; but here we are, providing a few dope ass how to self care options in a non-directive way. :) Maquita Donyel and Carter Sade take a moment to discuss exactly how this self care thing looks, how they manage to work it into their lives individually and through their intimate relationships, and discuss how it can elevate you/your purpose/your walk in God and on this earth. They also briefly touch on the depth and yet lightness of insecurities and the effect it can have on your walk. Follow Carter Sade: @iamcartersade Carter's journal Link: coming soon!
